Poopy Bad Bar Band And Lousy Punk Record Fest Part 5: Barry Knoedl – “Baby Don’t Give Up / I Just Want To Make You Happy” 7″ (1978)

Wow, what’s this?  1978?  Ok.  DEATH?  Lookin’ good!  KILL 002? Well, it just makes me wonder what KILL 001 was!  Yep, it sure looks like we have a winner with this baby, worth every penny of my $1.00.  So let me just throw the needle down on this puppy here……..oops!  Oh, wait!  Maybe I need to turn the speakers away so I don’t blast the paint off the walls with its sheer rock intensity……..nah!  Fuck it; I’ll just play the thing!  So I throw the needle down and……and….FUCK!  WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT?!?!  Oh, I guess I should have figured out the label was called “DEATH” and the name of the artist was actually some guy named “Barry Knoedl” !  Silly fuckin’ me!  It happens to the best of us, I guess!  Well, I won’t even try to describe the music on this one, but let me just say that the guy who designed the label art has a sick sense of humor!

THE TRACKS:

Baby Don’t Give Up

I Just Want To Make You Happy

I expected some hardcore shit, but the songs aren’t so bad
good stuff!

I don’t know, dude. I’ve been known to fly the flag for some real stinkers, but this one would be pushing it. I really did think it was going to be Punk or Metal, though!

Death Records also put out the two Jimi Lalumia And The Psychotic Frogs 45′s (Death To Disco and Typically Tasteless), and I think they both came out around 1978. I was led to believe and assumed it was their label. Typically Tasteless came wrapped in a brown paper bag to cover up the kissing nuns on the cover.

I actually own two copies of this and neither have a sleeve–maybe that would have given some insight on what this guy was about. As far as it being a Punk label, I really have my doubts, despite the cool artwork, The music just plain sucks. Makes the Bay City Rollers sound like Hardcore.
